The Great Plain region is 1.4 million square miles, most being farmland.  The Great Plains provides most of the worlds grains.  It has very dense farming but does not have a lot of people.  This section of the United States revolves around farming.  Flooding and water erosion strongly effect this region.  This region is east of the Rocky Mountain Region and west of the Appalachain Mountain region.  That is a little about the Great Plains region.

2. The Canadian Sheild

The Canadian Sheild takes up about half of Canada.  This is possibly the coldest part of the North American continent.  Because of this, it is not very populated.  The Canadian Sheild is made up of all rock, therefore, it conatins a lot of minerals.  Mining of these minerals makes it worth it to live here.  That is a little about the Canadian Sheild.

3. The Appalachian Mountain Region

The Appalachian Mountain Region is located alomg the eastern coast of North America.  There is a lot of foresitry, farming and mining in this region.  Some major cites in the Appalachian Mountain region are: Knoxville, Pittsburg, Washington DC, and New York City.  These all attract a lot of tourisim.  This region gets a lot of rain during the spring and winter and not so much in the summer and fall.  That is a little about the Appalachian Mountain Region.

4.  Rocky Mountain Region

The Rocky Mountain Region runs from New Mexico to Canada, about 3000 miles.  Thsi region stays on the Western part of North America.  Some of the major cities in the region are: Boise, Denver, Aspen, and Colorado Springs.  This region is cold about year around, making it good for skiing and snowboarding tourist.  That is a little about the Rocky Mountain Region.
